How to Become Independent From Your Parents ?
I am writing a guidebook for young adults for a school project
I have to include three sections they are
1. Becoming an Adult - developmental tasks, becoming independent, food choices, and healthy living
2. Communication & Relationships - communication skills, types of relationships, conflict resolution, abuse
3. Career Planning - Employment Facts and or tips, employability skills, workplace safety, work place image
If you have any idea on any of the three sections on what i should write that would be great

What can you tell me about mediation as a career?
A certification course is available to me. What is the pay for professional certified mediators? Are they self-employed or, if not, who employs them? Is it easier to find employment in large cities, or are jobs available in rural / small town areas? What is the difference between mediation and conflict resolution?
I plan to work in Texas.
Mediation is a type of conflict resolution (also called alternative dispute resolution).
In California, most mediators started their careers as attorneys. A lot of them were also judges.
I don't think certification matters as much as experience. You may have to volunteer to do a few mediations (for free) to get experience if you want to mediate in the legal field.
If you mean family law mediation, that may be different.
It depends on the type of mediation you want to do.

So have you guys heard of this? Apparently a small town in Oklahoma City had an election in which, John Hamilton or whatever his name is became the youngest mayor in American history. (At the age of 19) so as a future politician/foreign affairs major, this has opened up my eyes a little. Although I'm only 21, I feel as if I could be doing more! But what? How do I gain popularity/strength in my city? Constructive criticism only please! Although I am reminded what my father used to tell me back when I was young, "don't try to be a great man, just be a man, and let history make its own judgments" thank you and God bless. In any case you would like to see my resume, to view what have I accomplished so far, you're more than welcome.

I need some resume help please?
I recently started school, and am working my way through a Patient Care Assisting Program! Part of our curriculum includes a portfolio, and in that portfolio will be our resume, with the past five years of employment. From 2005-2007 I worked with a photography company that did "on-site" digital photography. I worked the mall (Santa and Easter sets) and did some golf tournaments, basketball, and baseball games ext. My main area of supervision was the mall setting though where I supervised numerous employees. I know to include that in my resume, my problem is that I have to have four points to each job I held including this one to help me get a job in health care. I planned to use Conflict resolution, and organization of sales and inventory for my other two, as Organization, and conflict resolution are key elements in the health care field. The problem is my fourth point, In this job I did a lot of paperwork, making deposits, and opening/closing procedures (setting up equipment, breaking down equipment, ext,) this was the main part of my job, how should I word this into my resume? It has to be short, and sweet, straight to the point.
I understand that I wont be working in photography or the easter set, thats why so far I have Conflict resolution, Organization of inventory, and sales, and My supervision skills, the question is how do I make the rest of what I did, paperwork wise, and whatnot work for my resume??
I don't know how to answer this question, but if I were you, submit it to a man who used to do this kind of work, and his name is Ken Sanchez. His e-mail address is Ken Sanchez

I wonder if Paul Castella of ICRC has seen this item?
The ICRC coordinated release of 42 injured civilians including 2 armed forces personnel was long overdue tasks but very much appreciated. The continuing U-turns created by Personnel trained and directed by you and your organization have had perplexing results of civilians continuously redirected into conflict. The result of which is as follows http://www.defence.lk/new.asp?fname=20090122_02
http://ia.rediff.com/news/2009/jan/21lankan-tamil-civilians-return-to-homes-in-govt-held-areas.htm
rediff - who didn't actually write this story but reworked an existing piece by the Department of Defense. The main difference being quotes from you have chosen to add 2 image links the first promarily of cricket matches and the second of the LTTE forces. I am wondering why these images that have nothing to do with current conflict resolution are linked into an article whose only rewrite has been quotes from your organization that amount to 4 sentences, even the number of civilians that have escaped the vanni (without the assistance of your staff) is incorrect as of counts on the 21st which is the official date-line for this story. My question to Mr. Castella is how does your organization manage to so consistently get the facts and their duties so wrong in Sri Lanka? The answer may be in a reader comment that states the following:
Is ICRC corrupted?

"ICRC is lost its functional ability in Chilanka. ICRC is become employment opportunity at that place, rather than spirit of Red Cross. ICRC should not fool the world as if they do services for affected people.
ICRC must inform the world for their inability and reality in Chilanka.
They must stop their drama"
Mr. Castella, your involvement with an Indian movie company in reference to this matter speaks volumes of your integrity and professionalism regarding your duties as a crisis and conflict management expert vis-a-vis your interest in selling a screenplay or writing a novel. Your people are ill trained and managed, your personal motivation is questionable and your results are negligible. I am sure that there are many who would like to review your resume, your credentials and your CV. Are you also involved with TNT Teams in Training? Special Skills
•Advanced computer knowledge with proficiency in software and hardware covering various applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, Windows Operating Systems, Adobe Suite, and Mac.
•Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.
•Planning and organizational skills with highest degree of detail.
•Effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects.
•Always exhibit enthusiasm into building rapport with customers and colleagues.
I think your resume is mostly okay, but I wonder what you did after 2005. I would also stress customer service skills, maybe in your Big Boy, Inc. job. As for the cover letter, here are a few things I noticed:
*You are missing a period at the end of your first paragraph.
* I would rather read you last sentence in the first paragraph as "My leadership experience in a (enter buzz word here like customer-oriented) work environment combined with my education makes me well-suited to carry out the requirements of the Store Manager position."
* You need a topic sentence for your second paragraph.Something that summarizes why you think this education is important.
*If you the gap in your resume is because of education, I would specifically state it in the second paragraph. Even just mention when you graduated and with what GPA.
* The colon before your list of class is unnecessary. I would just substitute it for "in" and lower case the name of the classes
*The third paragraph would be the section to mention that you were a Shift Leader.
*The first sentence in the third paragraph is missing a comma. It should read "My experience, both in education and within the work environment, have allowed me to develop excellent written and oral communication skills"
*The second sentence should be your topic sentence for the third paragraph. Example: "Through my work experiences at Big Boy, Inc and Ruby Tuesday, I have acquired a strong sense of responsibility, effective interpersonal skills, and the ability work as a resourceful team player."
*I would get rid of the word "peers". It makes it confusing whether they were your peers or your subordinates.
*Unless the computer skills are specifically listed for this job I would get rid of that sentence. It sounds awkward and is too short to be separate paragraph in your cover letter. Also, you have it on your resume.
* You don't need to the colon before you list your hands-on experience section.
* I would include a sentence about why you want to work at CVS. Example, "I am excited about the opportunity to work for an organization that (pick something from their website, like "is committed to providing excellent customer service to its patrons"). You need to make the cover letter about your alignment with the company's goals.
I hope this is helpful. I know it may be difficult to look at the full list of suggestions, but I am only trying to help. Personally, I think you have a great start, but you need to refine it a little bit more. Good luck.

Instead of skills, I would say Offering:
Change emp/vol history to Work History. It doesn't matter whether you were paid.
Put your employment dates flush let, tab over a bit, put the job title, on the next line under the job title, put a descrition of your responsibilities Even for you vol positions, don't say vol, just say what you do.
This is pretty good. Always remember that a resume is a sales tool, designed to peak the employer's interest in you. Put together a list of references, from the people you've worked for, to teachers and people you've babysat for. Anyone who has a glowing report to make about you. Best of luck, email me if you have further questions.
